This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Stage Plot Maker helps you build clear, readable stage plots to communicate your band's technical requirements to a sound engineer. You can build a collection of stage plots for different kinds of gigs, then print or email them directly from your mobile device.
A tablet is recommended for building stage plots. Once you build a stage plot, you can copy it to your phone for quick access on the go.
Stage plots can include a diagram to show the placement of elements on stage; numbered input and output lists; a list of other required items like chairs and music stands; the name and photo of each performer; notes for the sound engineer; and your contact info.
The app includes graphics for the following items:
- Inputs: vocal mic, instrument mic, area mic, clip mic, kick drum mic, DI box, XLR input
- Outputs: wedge monitor, spot monitor, fill monitor, in-ear monitor, headphone amp
- Instruments: amp, cymbal, drum, kick drum, keyboard, grand piano, pedal steel, xylophone
- Other: stairs, riser, stool, chair, music stand, horn stand, guitar stand, guitar rack, power outlet, mixer, laptop, isolation panel, fan
This app does not include graphics for small instruments that performers carry with them onto the stage, only large instruments like keyboards and drums that require prior placement on stage. The app design assumes that graphics for smaller instruments clutter stage plots and are relatively unimportant to the sound engineers and stage techs who will use them. Instead of a graphic for these instruments, stage plots can include a graphic for the input they use (a mic or DI box) with a custom label like 'trumpet mic' or 'DI for acoustic guitar.'
If you do not agree with this approach to stage plot design, or if you want to make stage plots that look different from the examples shown in the screen shots and demo video, you should select a different app.

- Changed the bottom toolbar buttons from text to icons on the stage plot edit page.
- Enabled the save button immediately after adding a new stage plot.
- Deleted the local copy of the performer's photo when deleting a performer.
Missing some very common sense items, difficult to edit or ad real world items that are needed. No mic stand symbols, amateur looking powers symbols, can’t edit input list, no drumkit symbol have to add individually.
Takes way too much time to do this! I’m a pro touring guy and would never want to present the results from this to experienced sound guys or stage managers!
You can indicate mic stand types by editing the labels for the mics. You can edit the input list by editing the name and channel number for each input item on the stage plot. For drum kits, you can build your kit and then select all items to copy and paste to different stage plots. One of the sample stage plots has a basic kit you can start with.
This definitely helps to present an idea but I would love to see more cymbals for smaller midi keyboards, string instruments, wind instruments, and the ability to change sizes of each cymbal for stage proportions.
Bought the app to make simple stage plots for my bands, and it does just that. With some minor additions, it could be much better.
Suggestions:
Free-form label creations
Symbols for smaller instruments
Adjustable stage size
Power box indicators
Graphic for band members
Drum kit graphic (instead of Indv drums)
Wouldn't recommend paying for it until these simple additions are made.
Freeform labels: on my wish list. Symbols for smaller instruments: no plans to add; see app description. Adjustable stage size: currently the whole page is your stage, but you don't have to use the full area. Power box indicators: already included. Graphic for band members: already included. Graphic for entire drum kit: not included, but if you set up a drum kit in one stage plot, you can copy and paste it to other stage plots.
Requires iOS 7.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.

A few years ago, my dad, an elementary school band teacher, asked me if I could create atool that would make it easier to create seating charts. I though it sounded like a funlittle exercise, so I did.
Much to my surprise, it's become quite popular among those who I can only assume are teachersof the musical persuasion, getting on average 1,000 visits per week from dozens of different countries. And I think that's pretty cool!

When you print the page using the print link or your browser's Print command, everythingon the page except for the chart will be hidden automatically. For best results, print inlandscape mode.
Options for removing the extra information on the page (date, URL, page number) can be foundin your browser's print settings.
Chairs may be hidden or shown by clicking on them. Hidden chairs are indicated by a largegrey square on the screen, but will be completely hidden when printing.
To create a partial row, first create a full row with more chairs than you need and then hide some of the chairs.
Stands will be displayed when the show music stands checkbox is selected. The small grayboxes indicate where stands can be placed, click inside these boxes to turn the stands on or off.The boxes themselves will be hidden when printing.
To create a row with only music stands (for percussion, etc), first create a normal row andthen hide all the chairs by clicking on each one.
To create custom labels on chairs, click the edit labels link beside each row. Each line of text thatyou type in the text box will be displayed over the a chair in the selected row (left to right). To restore thedefault numeric labels to a row, click its edit labels link and delete all text from the text box.
To set colors for chairs, first click the edit chair colors link. Select a color from the palette, and clickon the chairs one at a time to make them the selected color. Use the checkboxes above the palette to control whetherto color the chair outlines, labels, or both.
If you want to change the color of the interior of the chairs, right-click on each chair after choosing a color. The checkboxes have no effect on the interior color.
If you want to save your chart settings to use later, click the save this chart link at the bottom.A file containing the chart data will be saved to your computer. Next time you want to return to your savedchart, click the load saved chart link and select the file that you saved.
